The studios are on the sea front, handily placed for an early morning swim. On the short walk to the village your nose will lead you to the baker with fresh crispy rolls straight from the oven and nearby is a general store with everything from thick Greek yoghurt to local honey. The island has a regular bus service, car and bike hire and boat excursions. As the sun sets you’ll find a good choice of tavernas and bars plus a delightful open air cinema to enjoy a film on a hot summer night with a cold beer in your hand.

Lying close to Athens (see map), this Saronic island is certainly the most unspoilt of any found in the group. It is just a short boat ride from both Athens and Aegina, a nearby island worth visiting while you’re on holiday.

Agistri has everything you could want from good sandy beaches to lovely walks in the green mountains. The villages offer traditional Greek tavernas, bars, clubs and a great selection of seafood.

It is also ideal for a family holiday as children are welcome everywhere and can easily make friends with others of their age. The atmosphere is child friendly and children can play safely around the bars and restaurants.

For younger couples there is the option of good clubs and bars, plus a selection of water sports that will keep the most energetic sun worshipper happy from morning till night. Bars and clubs are great places to meet new people, offering good music and a great selection of cocktails plus local wines and brandies at very reasonable prices.

For those with romance in their hearts, whatever age they may be, unspoilt corners of Agistri offer tiny coves and delightful walks. You will almost certainly find your own favourite restaurant or taverna tucked away somewhere and moonlight beaches to wander along as the moon rises over the pine clad hills. Mountain trails are signposted and this is the perfect place for a quiet picnic with a bottle of wine and a view over the forests to the sparkling blue Aegean Sea.

Bicycles, mopeds and cars are available if you don’t feel like walking and wherever you go you’ll find smiling faces and warm welcomes from the islanders who are delighted to share their little paradise with you and your family.
